Lonnie’s StoneCrafters carries an extensive inventory of granite, marble, soapstone, quartzite and quartz. Before selecting a stone, it is always a good idea to learn the differences between each type and to review proper care instructions. Please note that with natural stone, every slab is different and the pictures below can vary form actual inventory.
Granite is a 100% natural stone that is quarried directly from the earth in large blocks. It comes in a wide range of natural colors and patterns, making each piece one of a kind and stands up well to common wear and tear.
Marble is one of the most elegant of stones. It’s beauty is timeless and is versatile enough for use throughout the home in numerous applications. It is more susceptible to staining, so it is often used in areas with less traffic.
Soapstone is a natural quarried stone that is a more subtle alternative to granite or marble. As soapstone ages it can develop a natural patina and when treated with mineral oil the stone will darken.
Quartzite is created under naturally occurring circumstances, when sandstone is subjected to extreme heat and pressure. It is harder than granite, so it is quite durable and withstands heat very well.
